I don’t think that consultants are getting commission but there is a lot of bad advice. Hopefully, this presentation may be useful.

I have looked at Plone but customising is more difficult and it needs some skills to install on certain server configurations. My system of choice is still ExpressionEngine. There is a free version now and I wouldn’t expect a commission for this advice!

Drupal seems good and has a growing user base, but again, it has a few peculiarities which may take a while to get into.</description>
